Three-dimensional work came from the need to jump off a page and get messy making marks that take my whole body through a very physical process. I easily become ritualistic and working with plaster fed that craving. The impeccable preparation and then window of opportunity between mixing the ‘mess’ and it then becoming a beautifully solid form is a perfect process for me to embrace. In recent years I have fallen in love with paper and find it a very seductive and versatile material for experimental making.
